If you live here, you already know the beach is only half the summer. The other half is scheduled. Grand Park and Baytowne Wharf both run their own programming calendars from late May through August, and for six weeks in June they overlap so heavily that picking a Tuesday night meant picking a side.
That stops around now. The Tuesday dance parties at Grand Park wrapped at the end of June, Thursday's Bands on the BLVD closed with a July 2 patriotic finale, and the Bal Harbour Shops pop-up on the North Lawn is packing out on July 18. What replaces them is quieter, more curated, and easier to plan a week around. The second half of the season belongs to whoever notices the shift.
The Two Grids That Run Parallel
Grand Boulevard at Sandestin and the Village of Baytowne Wharf sit less than three miles apart, and their event calendars are close enough in shape that a resident can pick either one as a default and still see live music four nights a week. Bands on the BLVD ran Thursdays from May 21 through July 2 at 6 to 8 p.m. in Grand Park with a rotating lineup including Dion Jones & The Neon Tears, The Salty Strays, Casey Kearney, Xcetrics, The Wildlife Specials, and Cadillac Willy. On the Baytowne side, SOL y LUNA at Baytowne Marina runs Tuesdays from May 26 through August 11 at 6:30 p.m.
The difference between the two is texture. Grand Park is lawn-chair-and-blanket programming set inside a shopping and dining district, so the plan is drinks or dinner from a Town Center restaurant, then music. Baytowne leans into water, fireworks, and a resort footprint. Both are free at the ground level. Both are family-legible. The question a resident actually asks in July isn't "what's happening?" — it's which of the two rhythms fits the week you already have.
A Week That Actually Uses Both
Here is what the standing calendar looks like once the June overlap ends and the July programming settles in.

The Tuesday BIG BLVD Bash at Grand Park ran May 26 through June 30, 6 to 8 p.m., hosted with Emerald Coast Theatre Company by dance instructor Teresa Lombardi alongside DJ Max. That means July and August Tuesdays now belong to Baytowne by default. If you were building a Tuesday habit around Grand Park, the muscle memory needs to move a few miles east.
What Changes on July 18
Two things happen the same weekend, and they run in opposite directions.
The Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-up at Grand Boulevard closes July 18. It occupied 30 custom-built shopping containers designed by architecture firm LOT-EK on the North Lawn. The residency's closing signature event is a Floral Farewell Fete: An Evening with the Symphony on Wednesday, July 17, benefiting the Cultural Arts Alliance. That takes a stretch of the North Lawn out of circulation for the rest of the summer, which changes the visual and foot-traffic pattern of an early evening walk through Grand Park.
The offset is that Emerald Coast Theatre Company's Friday Night Comedy series runs July 17 through August 21, bringing touring comedians to ECTC's Grand Boulevard stage every Friday. That is a five-week ticketed run that carries the venue from the last night of Bal Harbour into the tail end of August. If you host houseguests during those weeks, comedy is now the anchor that Thursday bands used to be.
The Fall Arrivals Already Baked In
Three openings queued behind the summer calendar change what "your regular spot" looks like by football season.
Spell Restaurant Group is opening a second Shades Bar & Grill at Grand Boulevard in late summer 2026, taking a space at 8670 US Highway 98 at the western-most entrance to the property. The 4,800-square-foot renovation is led by DAG Architects, with The Willingham Company on kitchen design and Z Space Design on interiors; when finished the room will seat 264, with a small patio, more than a dozen beer taps, and TVs positioned for sports viewing. The flagship in Inlet Beach has been open more than three decades, and the local read has been that Miramar Beach lacked a comparable sports-bar option at scale. Dana Hahn of Howard Group put it plainly:
Grand Boulevard and the surrounding Miramar Beach neighborhood has anxiously been awaiting a first-class sports bar experience.
Behind Shades, Grand Boulevard is also adding Warby Parker and Perla Baking Co. to the 2026 mix. Warby Parker is a first-of-its-kind arrival for the Emerald Coast, which matters if you have been driving to a mall for glasses or contacts. Perla Baking Co. slots into the morning gap the farmers market only covers on Saturdays.
The Saturday Anchor Nobody Reschedules
The one piece of the calendar that doesn't shift with the season is the Saturday morning market. The Grand Boulevard Farmers Market runs every Saturday, year-round, rain or shine, with dozens of vendors offering locally sourced produce, grass-fed beef, chicken and pork, local honey, pickled vegetables, jams, homemade hummus, flowers, herbs, soaps and lotions. It sets up in Grand Park between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama.
If you are already going for produce, the practical move in July and August is to stay for the shade and coffee, then use the walk back to your car as a look at how the North Lawn is being reset after Bal Harbour. Between mid-July and Labor Day is when a lot of Grand Boulevard's cosmetic work happens under the radar, in the seams between one signature event and the next.
Building Your Own Second Half
There is no single right way to run a summer week here, but there are two working templates.
The first is a Baytowne-forward week: Tuesday at SOL y LUNA for the DJ set and lagoon fireworks, a Friday SOLARIS cruise once or twice a summer for a longer night, Baytowne LIVE stage on the nights in between. That works if your default is water, live bands, and a wider footprint to walk off dinner.
The second is a Grand Boulevard-forward week, which now leans on Friday Comedy at ECTC from July 17 through August 21, Saturday morning at the farmers market, and pop-in dinners at existing Town Center restaurants on the nights when Grand Park is quiet. That is the plan that pays off in September, when Shades opens and the fall event series starts stacking on top.
Either way, the reason to be intentional right now is that mid-July is the only real hinge in the season. The June overlap is over, the pop-up leaves this weekend, and the fall additions haven't landed yet. The residents who make the most of the next six weeks are the ones who noticed that the calendar moved.
